[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Mega Job Mela organized by PIA elicited a very good response from Employer-Companies and Job-Seekers on April 19, which was inaugurated by Sri. Muralidhar Halappa, Chairman, Karnataka Skill Development Corporation, Guest of Honor .Sri A.C.Sahu, General Manager SIDBI presided over the Job Mela.
Students from many Engineering Colleges and educational institutions, and around 100 companies including some PSUs and large industries took part in the Job Fair.
PIA President Sri R. Krishnamurthy said that “We were prepared for around 10,000 participants and had made concurrent arrangements for offering on-the-spot appointment orders to 3,000 odd eligible applicants. The idea of hosting a Job Mela came to us after hearing repeated grievances voiced by our entrepreneurs in Peenya and surrounding industrial areas about the acute shortage of skilled workers which is hampering their productivity.”
Job offers were open not only for graduates and post-graduates, but also for SSLC pass/fail and ITI/ Diploma pass.
A good number of youth and Job-seekers from Peenya and surrounding areas were present at the Job Fair with all the related records, such as Class X/PUC/Degree certificate, Address proof, etc. Industries from across the spectrum such as micro, small and medium enterprises, large industries, PSUs, and MNCs and covering almost all Sectors such as engineering, machine tools, fabrication, foundry, garments, IT and ITeS, electronics, manufacturing, etc were present at the Udyoga Mela.
As part of organizing the Job Mela, PIA President Sri R. Krishnamurthy held a meeting earlier with Sree Prasad Matrubai, Head-operations and Sri Bore Gowda of Insignia. A Press Conference was also convened to announce the organizing of the Uduyog Mela on April 17.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
