INTERACTION MEET WITH MINISTER FOR WOMEN & CHILD WELFARE Women Entrepreneurs should benefit from Incentives & Concessions given by GOK: PIA President

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Women entrepreneurs have a golden chance to pursue expansion plans of their business or start a new industry, since they can now get financial assistance at only 4% for an amount up to Rs 4 crore and PIA will aggressively promote this new Scheme introduced by the State Government, said Sri R. Krishnamurthy, President, PIA, at an Interaction Meeting with the Women entrepreneurs assisted under the 4% Interest Subsidy Scheme on May 22 at KASSIA Auditorium.

The Interaction was organized by KASSIA in association with Karnataka Women Development Corporation and Karnataka State financial Corporation. Hon’ble Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Smt. Umashree, chaired the Meeting along with Worshipful Mayor, BBMP, Smt. G. Padmavathi, Smt. Bharathi Shankar, Chairperson, KSWDC, presided.

Executive Directors and Senior Officers of KSFC, MD and Board of Directors of KSWDC, Office Bearers of KASSIA, and Smt. Latha Girish. Panel Chairperson, WED, KASSIA presided.

“Women should become Job creators rather than Job seekers, and make optimum use of the Interest Subsidy Scheme which can work wonders for their future aspirations,” he remarked, lauding Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Siddaramaiah for an outstanding initiative for empowering women entrepreneurs.

The PIA President also acknowledged the support extended by Worshipful Mayor, BBMP, Smt. G. Padmavathi on getting some plastic manufacturing units in and around Peenya that were forcibly closed on the false pretext of violating the plastic ban.

Addressing the participants, Smt. Umashree, Hon’ble Minister for Women and Child Welfare declared that Karnataka was the first State in the country to offer soft loans to women entrepreneurs at 4%, that too, up to Rs 2 crore. She also referred to many other incentives and concessions extended by the Siddaramaiah Government that were pro-women, pro-poor and pro-industry, especially for those who belonged to the weaker sections.

Smt. G. Padmavathy, Worshipful Mayor, BBMP, said the Government was sincere in encouraging women to take up self-employment in a big way as that was the best way to tackle the challenge of unemployment.
Officials from KSFC made a presentation on its initiatives for empowering women entrepreneurs and KWDC released the Government order enhancing the loan limit to Rs. 2 crores.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
