Established in the early 1970’s, the Peenya Industrial Complex is the biggest and one of the oldest industrial estates in the South East Asia, located in the northern part of Bangalore.This complex comprising of the Peenya Industrial Area formed by KIADB and the Peenya Industrial Estate formed by the KSSIDC, which was started with a few industries, is now spread over an area of about 40 sq.kms. housing about 5000 small-scale industries and a few large and medium scale industries.
This industrial complex has a variety of small scale industries engaged in the production, maintenance and service in the various disciplines of mechanical, electrical, electronics, automobile, civil, packaging, garments, lubricants, consumer items, pharmaceuticals, machine tools and a cross sections of other industrial activities. There are a quite a good number of export-oriented industries also in this complex.
