Running a small scale Industry these days is very very difficult due its complexity. A small Entrepreneur has to play a number of roles and each role has its own job specifications to meet. Accordingly, to my mind a person running his own business should have the following attributes because a small business man can ill afford to employ or engage highly qualified professionals due to its financial implications. The following personal attributes will definitely enhance the performance of an entrepreneur to a great extent.

- Competence.
- Ability.
- Communication.
Knowledge :- Mainly consists of learning Concepts, Principles, Information and
Details etc of a particular subject which needs to be handled. It could be acquired from Books, Print and Electronic media, Academic and such other sources.
Skill :- Skill refers to the ability of using the acquired information and applying the same in a particular context and ensuring the applicability of the information to gain optimum result.
Competence :- Competence defines the requirement for success on the job in a border and inclusive terms. Knowledge, Skill and Ability contribute towards Competence.
Ability :- Is a demonstrable capacity of a person to apply factors like knowledge and skill simultaneously in order to complete the work or perform a process which could be observed and measured to test its efficiency by measurable parameters as applicable. Abilities also can be related to personal and social attributes acquired with out formal training. Abilities are enduring talents that can help a person to perform a task according to its implied and stated requirements.
Communication :- Communication is nothing but in simple word, it is the capability of an Individual to convey the meaningful messages to the intended receiver of such communication first time and every time without losing the very essence and spirit of the message. Receiving person should be able to act on the message as intended by the messenger without confusion or ambiguity.
All the above said factors are supplementary and complimentary to effectively and efficiently to run a business and one has to ensure that these qualities are available in required level in himself. Not only that, whenever he appoint an employee he should ensure that even his employee possess such qualities so that as a team it could be used as supplementary and complimentary.
