Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Siddaramaiah announced various plans to encourage manufacturing start-ups and instituted a new Manufacturing Excellence Award.
A major highlight of the event was the signing of a MoU by Karnataka Government and the Centre for setting up an Integrated Machine Tools Park at Vasanthanara-sapura in Tumakuru.
Welcoming the announcement, Sri R. Krishnamurthy, President, PIA said this is certain to spur the machine tools hub in Peenya by way of enhanced order values. “Peenya Industrial Area in particular accounts for a major part of machine tools production in the country. The Integrated Machine Tools Park in the neighbourhood will further broaden our footprint and we look forward to its commissioning at the earliest,” he said.
Several prominent Ministers from the Union Government and State Government including Hon’ble, Sriyuths Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu, Ananth Kumar, M.J. Akbar, R.V. Deshpande, D.K. Shivakumar, Priyank Kharge, Ramesh Kumar, Basavaraj Rayareddy graced the event.
Over 500 B2B meetings were held across different focus sectors with International/ National Business houses and Corporations. More than 50 World class companies showcased their manufacturing prowess at the Exhibition Centre of the Make In India – Karnataka Conference. A total of 10 sessions, one of them on ‘Make in India’ and 9 focus sector sessions were held during the two- day conference. The 10 focus sector sessions held at the event were: Make in India; Aerospace and Defence; Bio Technology and Pharmaceuticals; Textiles, Apparel and Leather; Heavy Engineering and Machine Tools; Electronics and Electricals; Agri and Food processing; Auto and Auto Components; Manufacturing start-ups; Plastics and Chemicals.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
