An official statement said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would facilitate cooperation through the agencies and programmes both the ministries for developing AYUSH businesses in India.
This collaboration intends to put India at the top of the list of countries providing in holistic healthcare.
The two ministries, as part of the partnership, will organise regional workshops to develop entrepreneurship. The MSME ministry will draw up new schemes for AYUSH industries, through which small industries will benefit.
Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, homoeopathic medicine makers as well as health centres in public and private sectors are under the ambit of AYUSH. Most of the units in this industry are MSMEs.
The statement added that the AYUSH sector has seen a steady increase in the domestic market over the past decade. The world is slowly accepting traditional medicines. This has led to a significant increase in the export of AYUSH products such as food supplements, nutraceuticals and herbal extracts.
The statement further said that, to benefit from this trend, the ministries of MSME and AYUSH have agreed to collaborate and develop businesses in this sector.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
