[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Government of India will launch a job portal for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, on the eve of UN MSME Day (27 June). The government bids to boost employment opportunities through this portal.
According to MSME Secretary Arun Kumar Panda, this portal is expected to benefit both the job seekers — finding the right opportunity — as well as the stakeholders —getting the right persons for the job they are offering. He added that 4.40 lakh people have registered with the portal so far. This number includes trained at the government’s 18 technology centres.
The government has stated that the portal has been receiving encouraging response from job providers. Panda informed that about 2,400 companies have registered with the portal so far. He expects more companies to register once the government formally launches the portal.
Panda said that the government would set up more technology centres to create more job opportunities. In addition to the existing 18 centres, the ministry would establish 15 more centres. These new centres would pick people from different levels of education — from school dropouts to
highly qualified professionals.
About 2,300 delegates, including small businesses, start-ups, financial companies (banks and NBFCs) will attend the national MSME conclave “Udyam Sangam 2018”. About 800 young entrepreneurs, including women, planning to set up their own business will attend a separate session
within the conclave.
The conclave aims to encourage interaction and collaboration between various stakeholders of MSMEs, and promote innovation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
